Participating in a science fair not only teaches students how to use the scientific method, but it helps them gain valuable skills in thinking critically, organizing ideas and materials, researching, writing, and giving oral presentations.
Homeschool students may participate in science fairs at various public and private schools in the area. Please contact the schools for more information. Students must compete in a school-level fair and do well before being eligible to compete in the county science fair. Schools only send their best projects to county. By participating in at least one school-level fair, students may gain feedback on their project and improve their projects and/or displays for the county fair.
