Encouraging Home is olymp trade safe Educators…

We would like to take a moment to welcome you on the path of homeschooling, which we all believe is an important call on your life, and we hope FHEA will be a useful tool and resource to come alongside you on this amazing, yet challenging, journey.

The purpose of FHEA is to encourage families on their homeschooling path.

We have an annual board meeting in the spring olymp trade , and all are welcome and invited to come, provide your voice. We welcome your input! If you have questions about the association you would like to have addressed, you can contact the board by filling out the contact form at the bottom of this page.

The Flathead Valley homeschool community has a diverse range of backgrounds, so please do your research to make sure the activities you engage in align with your family’s morals and/or beliefs. Many of these resources are found here on this website, in an online group and on a local Facebook page. The listing of activities, events, organizations, etc. in this way does NOT designate that they are expressly promoted, sponsored or organized by FHEA unless it is stated therein.

FHEA supports your responsibilities and choices, as parents, in the education of your children as well as the autonomy of each organization/individual to create and promote their own activities and events.

What is our oversight in the valley?

FHEA events are avenues for homeschool families to network in the Flathead Valley, and provide opportunities for connecting homeschooling families with any resources available in the area. We bring together as many of the resources available in this valley as we can at our annual Fall Kick-Off and other events, so you, the parent, can determine the best fit for your family.

FHEA organizes and/or oversees the following activities and events:

The Annual Homeschool Kick-Off

We bring together as many of the resources available in this valley at our Kick-Off and other events as we can, so you, the parent, can determine the best fit for your family.

Homeschool Support Group meetings

Monthly support group meetings offer encouragement and community to the new as well as the new-to-the-area homeschool family. Additionally, established home educators are welcome to bring strength and perspective to this fluid group. We meet (holidays excluded) at Cornerstone Community Church in Kalispell every 1st Tuesday of the month in the afternoon which offers childcare by donation and every third Thursday in the evening (no childcare available for evening meetings). Senior Graduation

The Flathead Valley hosts a cap and gown commencement ceremony for homeschooled students every year on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. This is a rich and memorable ceremony where the parents give a diploma and brief commendation to their student, accompanied by a picture slideshow and a reception. Past graduating classes have ranged in size from 15 to 38 with over 500 guests attending. If you have a senior that would like to participate in this event (even if you are from outlying areas), please contact us at http://fheaonline.org/contact-us/. Registration must be completed and fees paid in the fall to reserve a place for your spring graduate.

Senior Banquet

As a way of honoring our graduating seniors, the FHEA hosts a spring formal for grades 9-12 (ages 14 and up). This classy event allows for the young ladies to wear those lovely (modest) formal gowns and the gentlemen to join them in shirt and tie formalwear. The banquet is planned with senior input in view, overseen by a FHEA board member, and chaperoned by homeschool parents. Although the date is fluid, keep your eyes on our calendar for a later April or early May timeframe. Registration forms will be available on the web-site by early February.

Annual Book / Curriculum Sale

School is out and it’s time to sell and buy what’s needed for next year! This popular FHEA event takes place at Cornerstone Community Church the first Saturday in June and has grown to spilling over into the parking lot! Join the homeschool families gathering to sell and purchase educational supplies as well as miscellaneous housewares and clothing.
